personalized cake stand

Awhile back I saw this wonderfully crafted, elegant, personalized vesselsandwares cake stand on etsy, which just also happened to be in my wedding color. I had not yet decided what I was going to do for a cake, but my options were limited, as I only budgeted about $250...for about 200 guests. When I saw this, I thought to myself, "If I get this, I can buy a small round cake for me and Kelly and sheet cakes for the rest of the guests." Cute. Reusable. Awesome keepsake. I was sold. Check out more of Jeanette Zeis' beautiful pottery on her etsy page.

I love her subtle color choices, stellar craftsmanship, and signature imprints (stars, ferns, and swirls, oh my!).

bon weekend!

I have the somewhat daunting task of choosing photogs of Kelly and me for the slideshow that will take place during the cocktail hour of our reception. Although Kelly and I have only been snapping photogs of each other for the past two and half years, we tend to be of the mindset "more is more" when it comes to pictures of one another. This equates into 4,000 images from our two weeks in France 2 years ago, plus another 5,000 or so from the remaining 2 years, 4 months and two weeks. Daunting, yes. Inspiring, bien sur. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed re-discovering photos that I had completely forgotten about. And being newly inspired myself, I thought I would go out on a limb and submit some of our engagment photos to my new favorite wedding blog. We will see if Emily at Once wed is as enchanted by our engagment session as I am. I hope, at least, that YOU enjoy!
